Obituary for William Edward Freeman Jr.

William Edward Freeman Jr.
William Edward Freeman Jr., age 52, passed away on Tuesday, July 14th at his home in Washington, Warren County, New Jersey.
He was known by many as Bill, to his mother as Billy. He was born on May 03, 1963 in Somerville, New Jersey, before his family moved to Washington when he was a child, where he completed his education at the local schools. While he lived in other towns throughout his lifetime, he always returned and was considered a longtime resident of Washington. Although he had fought throat cancer over the past few years, his death was unexpected and attributed to the side effects of the treatment.

He is survived by his two children, Matthew David Freeman and Ashley Marie Freeman; three granddaughters, Mylie Carson Freeman, Mya Chanel Parker and Lux Ryden Freeman; with his first grandson, Xavier William Freeman on his way. Also surviving is his beloved mother, Rose Marie (Cecere) Freeman and brother, Patrick John Freeman.

Bill was an amazing cook, specializing in Italian cuisine; it was no surprise when he chose it to be his life’s profession. He touched many with his food throughout his career as a cook and restaurateur. In fact many summers he was known to spread smiles to countless faces along the miles of the New Jersey Boardwalks with his cooking.

He was a generous and good hearted man who placed a high value in spending time with family and friends. In fact he continued to host gatherings throughout the year for family and extended family (lifetime friends) where we shared in good food, drink and laughter. Of course no friend (new/old) were excluded, all were always welcome. He loved to watch football, especially when his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys, was playing. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, fire pits, fishing, crabbing and trips to the shore. He was known to have a calm temperament with his children, even when his ear was caught by the fishing hook cast by his son or when the new car CD player was destroyed by the insertion of simple penny.
Bill, we will always carry your memory in our hearts! Along with your enjoyment in life’s simplest pleasures. As well as traditions passed down as his son now takes his own daughters crabbing at the shore and in his daughter has discovered her flare for cooking.

Family, friends and others whose lives Bill touched are invited to attend his Funeral Mass being held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25th, by Father Damian Tomiczek at Saint Theodore Roman Catholic Church, located at 855 Route 57, Port Murray NJ. There will be a gathering immediately thereafter in the Church Hall to reminisce, grieve, support each other and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation in Bill’s name to any cancer foundation.
