Condolence From: Elaine Lloyd-Nazario
Condolence: I am so sorry to know that you have left us. It's been so long. You were always so kind, funny, and giving. I learned today that Miss Mary has transitioned too. My heart grieves. Many blessings upon your memories.

Condolence From: Diane Dunwell(LaBar)Hoffman
Condolence: Dr.Gwen epitomized a life well lived and in service to others.

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Emerson

My heart is heavy tonight.

My "Glinda" has passed on and this world lost one of its most caring, sharing, and intelligent women. Certainly the most remarkable women I have ever had the privilege of knowing.

I met Dr. Gwen Roquemore when she taught a class for the Warren County Adult and Continuing Education entitled "Taking It To The Limit". She taught us that all things were possible, that fear and doubt were stumbling blocks, and to never ever allow another person to create feelings in us that were not enhancing, enlightening, and empowering.

I loved her class so much I took it a second time a year later and signed my oldest daughter Jennifer Labar Odell up for it too.

God ensured that our paths would cross often. She invited me to a meditation seminar facilitated by Unity of Lebanon and lead by the inspirational Audrey Palmer who later was the clergy who united Roger and I in marriage.

When I worked for the Warren County Welfare Board Dr. Gwen facilitated a diversity workshop.

In her class "Taking It To The Limit", Dr. Gwen had us write down goals on a self addressed postcard. She had us make an album with photos of people we admire, goals, and things we'd love to own and do. A few years later she mailed us those cards.

I have reached almost every single goal including getting re-married, writing and having a book published, owning my own home, and going on a cruise to the Caribbean among other things.

One goal still awaits...a ride in a horse drawn sleigh with family through the white and drifted snow!

I know for a fact that many lives have breathed easier because of Dr. Gwen. She will hold a very special place in my heart forever. She truly followed the teachings of Jesus Christ.
